Air is taken from the atmosphere for processing. The air is filtered and compressed as per the steps involved in Liquid oxygen machinery system process.Impurities such as water, carbon dioxide are removed in an air separation unit (ASU), thus, obtaining dried and cleaned air.The air then passes into the main heat exchanger of the cold box where it is cooled to cryogenic temperatures. The air then moves into a high pressure distillation column where physical separation takes place generating vaporous nitrogen at the top of the column with liquid form of oxygen (~90%O2) at the bottom of the column.
This LOX is collected and is passed into a low pressure distillation column where it is distilled to yield high purity oxygen.It is collected in a cryogenic storage tank.Liquid oxygen can be moved into transferable tanks or it can be compressed into a liquid pump and vaporized to generate gaseous (GOX) for cylinder filling. Liquid oxygen system comprises of cryogenic storage tank, liquid pump and vaporizers with temperature and control equipment.
Delhi oxygen plants are incorporated with a high degree of automation using a PLC system. The plant can work unattended requiring minimum human interface, thus, minimizing the requirement of operating staff while increasing the efficiency. Role of the operator is limited to control the plant from the automation control room. Few operations such as oil checks will require manual intervention from time to time ensuring safe operation and long life of the plant.
Liquid oxygen plant generates high purity oxygen into a cryogenic tank. Oxygen gas for cylinder filling can also be generated from stored liquid through the use of a high pressure liquid pump and vaporizers. The LOX plant is easy to install anywhere in the world.
